Our Newest Dermatologist: A Science-Driven, Patient-Centered Addition to the Saguaro Dermatology Family
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Dr. Katie McClure to our Paradise Valley location! Dr. McClure brings a unique blend of analytical brilliance and genuine warmth to our team. With a passion for “solving the puzzle” of skin health and a deep commitment to patient education, she is already making a wonderful impression on our community.
What led you to choose medicine and then specifically dermatology?
I have always loved science, especially the more intricate details. However, I also love interacting with people, and medicine felt like the perfect combination of those two passions. I found my specific calling in dermatology because of the investigative nature of the field. There is something so satisfying about diagnosing a rash—it’s like putting puzzle pieces together to figure out exactly what is going on and how to help the patient find relief.
What Brought You to Saguaro Dermatology?
I am fairly new to Arizona and was looking for a private practice that truly felt like a family. I wanted a place that prioritized that “family feel” not only in how we interact as a business but, more importantly, in how we treat our patients. Saguaro Dermatology was the perfect fit.
What Do You Love Most About Your Work?
The relationships! I love getting to know my patients over the course of many visits and hearing about what’s new in their lives. It’s a privilege to be a small part of their journey.
What’s your favorite skincare product or tip for your patients?
I’m a big fan of prescription medications that offer cosmetic benefits, but for an over-the-counter staple, I’m absolutely obsessed with La Roche-Posay Triple Repair Lipid-Replenishing Cream. My biggest tip? Think of skincare as your essential foundation—it’s the basis of everything—but remember that you can always take your results to the next level with professional procedures.
Skin Care is Essential – What Step Do You Tell Patients to Never Skip?
SPF! Sunscreen is by far the most important skincare step, especially here in sunny Arizona. Daily sunscreen use helps prevent skin cancer and premature aging, allowing us to enjoy the outdoors safely.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
I love soaking up this beautiful Arizona weather! I spend as much time as possible with my family—my husband, Tanner, our daughter, Kennedy, and our Pomeranian, Coco. We also really enjoy exploring the local food scene and trying out new restaurants in the area.
